Take a tour! They’re safe,easy & affordable.

There are many factors that determine whether a vacation is a good one, or a great one. For me, one of the most important things to consider is how smoothly things go from the beginning to the end. Delays and problems can really change your mood and overall perception of a trip. Let’s face it, you’re on vacation, it’s suppose to be fun and stress free.

I’ve traveled to more than 25 countries around the world, and to be honest, I usually travel independently. Getting around has never really been a problem because I could always find someoneĀ  that speaks English. This was not the case however on a recent trip to Peru. Almost no one spoke English. Not even the young people in tourist areas of Lima, the capital city. So my point is, some countries are easier to get around in than others. I can’t tell you how happy I was to use a tour company on my recent trip to this region of the world.

There are probably many good tour companies to chose from in Ecuador, but I can’t say enough about my experience with G.A.P Adventures. Located in Toronto Canada, G.A.P Adventures has become one of the most popular, and most respected companies in the industry. It has won countless awards, and for the past two years, National Geographic Adventure magazine has named G.A.P. Adventures on its Best Outfitters on Earth competition. G.A.P. Adventures received scores of 96.6% in 2009, and 95.9% in 2008 for its excellence in quality of service, spirit of adventure, sustainability and education.

G.A.P. Adventures is a first class company with travel options to suit any fitness level or budget. I can tell you from my own experience they are professional, down to earth, knowledgeable, and best of all affordable. Shop around, but do consider them as an option.

The variety of options in Ecuador presents a variety of challenges too. There are lots of things you need to know in this part of the world like dealing with altitude, or insects to watch out for in the jungle. It’s not the same as a trip to Paris or New York, or even Thailand for that matter. Take a tour. You will see more, learn more, and best of all have more fun.
